๐บ๏ธ Route Stages
Begin at Sedbury Railway Station Car Park. From the restored platform, follow the wide crushed-stone Greenway eastwards. Within half a mile you’ll pass through the original 700 m-long Sedbury Tunnel, emerging into dappled woodland with glimpses of the River Wye below.
At the 1.5-mile mark, you’ll reach the former Beachley Halt, now a scenic riverside viewpoint. Pause on the benches to watch kayakers and wading birds in the estuary before continuing beneath the iconic Severn Bridge.
Around 2 miles in, the path levels out as you approach Chepstow Station. Here you can pop into the Old Station Tea Rooms for a slice of cake, then retrace your steps the same way back to Sedbury.
Guest Tip:
• Wear sturdy trainers or walking boots; the crushed stone can be slippy when wet.
• Check tunnel lighting: bring a torch or use your phone’s flashlight for Sedbury Tunnel.
• Peak flower season is April–June; look out for bluebells and wild garlic.
