My name is Charlotte and I run Reddings Retreat. I recently updated our website and I wish to showcase and catalogue the diverse range of the birds (and other wildlife) at Reddings Retreat (Tintern, Monmouthshire, Wales). 

Reddings Retreat is located on my father's farm in the spectacular lower Wye Valley an area of outstanding natural beauty. To showcase the wildlife in and around Reddings Retreat we offering 2 wildlife photo opportunities:

 

Our Wildlife Photo Opportunity

Book a discounted stay* at Reddings Retreat in exchange for agreeing to share your high quality images** of birds and other wildlife (your wildlife portfolio) taken during your stay***. Your wildlife images will be used to showcase and identify the diversity of species of wildlife in and around Reddings Retreat****.

To apply for this offer please complete the form below and briefly include the following information in the message section of the form: 

  1. If you wish to participation in both of our wildlife opportunities (Social media wildlife Opportunity and this Wildlife Photo Opportunity. Or are just applying for this opportunity.
  2. Your photography level: beginner, intermediate, advanced or professional and what you enjoy photographing (birds, mammals, insects and plants or a mixture of the wildlife and natural landscapes etc).
  3. Where you tend to share your wildlife photo e.g. Facebook groups, camera club, social media or with  friends and family. If possible please share links to examples of a couple of your recent photos.
  4. Confirmation that you agree to abide by our:

  5. Outline the scope of your wildlife portfolio and confirm how you will share your portfolio's images with us e.g. email as attachment / include cloud link, WhatsApp, share via cloud storage service etc

Our Photography Gallery showcases photos featured on our social media platforms.  

Currently at Reddings Retreat we have red kites flying over our shepherds' huts and farm house in the mornings. A herd of wild deer with young fawns feeding in the fields and along the hedgerows at dusk. Our farm house bird feeders opposite the private guest room, have two or three Greater spotted woodpeckers visiting almost daily along with a constant variety hedgerow, farmland and song birds. In the evenings and nighttime we have bats flying around, deer prancing in the fields and owls hunting. So, rain or sunshine Reddings Retreat provides ample opportunities to see and photograph birds and other wildlife.

The images submitted for the the wildlife portfolio will be used to catalogue and promote via social media the diversity of the wildlife living in and around Reddings Retreat Tintern. Wildlife portfolio photo eligibility terms and conditions:

Your portfolio (collection of wildlife images) images must adhere to our Wildlife Photography Rules.

Your portfolio must predominantly focus on images of wildlife ideally birds at Reddings Retreat or within 20 minutes walk or 1 mile radius of Reddings Retreat. The number of images submitted for your portfolio will vary depending on various factors including the skills of the photographer and length of stay, which will influence your nightly discounted rate offer. 

Other images that can be included in your portfolio along with the bird and wildlife images are:

  • Farm animals, fungi or wildflowers in or around (within 20 minutes walk or 1 mile radius) Reddings Retreat.
  • Landscape and local nature (within 20 minutes walk or 1 mile radius) of Reddings Retreat. 
  • Local attractions or places of local interest within 6 miles of Reddings Retreat.
  • You can also submit wildlife and scenic photos taken within 6 miles radius of Reddings Retreat, that were shot within the last three years, as part of your portfolio, with prior agreement.

The first 10 unique images (files) must be sent within 10 days of your check out date from Reddings Retreat.

If you wish to be featured in our Photography Gallery the following information should be provided for each image or groups of images and linked to the image's file name listing:   

- subject of the photo

- date photo(s) taken

- location taken

- photographer's name / tag

Feel free to provide any other information e.g. camera used, title / caption / brief description to your list.
